A LONG Post
Alas, it has been a while since my last update. I suppose this post can simply be the summary of my doings of this past weekend. Well, on Friday morning at midnight, I went to see the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire... oh my goodness... simply amazing! As the University Chronicle pointed out, this movie compared to its book counterpart sucked. But of course when compared to its movie brethren, this one is simply brilliant. I loved it even though it was extremely rushed and there was not enough time to even show some real class time. I mean, they go to school for a whole year, but the only time the movie even showed them in class was when Moody told them about the Unforgivable Curses. But then that scene stirred me emotionally because I felt so bad for Neville. After this movie, can I just tell you all that I absolutely love Neville. I think this was a really big moment for him, and I just can't wait for the scene in the fifth book when he visits his parents in St. Mungo's to be brought to the big screen. It will again be one of those defining moments for his character. I was really happy with the results of the whole Ron/Hermione thing. Hermione really did enjoy herself, and it really showed Ron that she is a girl and would like to be treated as one. The "Ron-Getting-Jealous" thing was beautiful, as I am an avid Ron/Hermione believer. And I am also extremely happy that they played the "Magic Works" song from the Soundtrack while Ron and Hermione were fighting rather than while Hermione would be dancing with Krum. If you haven't heard it, you definitely should. It's beautiful. But then again I am just a silly girl.
After the movie, I promptly went home for a 3 hour "nap" before I had to get up at 7 to study for a math quiz that I know I failed. At least after the quiz, I was able to go to the Marriot Library for a lovely power nap between that class and Chemistry. After classes were over, Michelle and I took Trax down to Sandy ("Sandy Civic Center. Ten thousand South. The end of the line. As far as we go." Tee hee!) where I met my sister Kendra. We had an hour to kill before she had to be at Bingham High School to play in the pit during their musical. We went to Target where I found the most amazing Christmas socks: they have Christmas lights winding all over them until they spell out the word "Meow," and then there is this picture of an evil cat on my socks! No seriously! I saw them, and I just thought, "I MUST have these Christmas/Evil Feline socks!" After that I went with her to watch BHS's rendition of the play "Guys and Dolls" which was absolutely spectacular. Jeremy Dowse and Stephanie Purcell were amazing, and I am pretty much in love with Jeremy now. I told him so, but I don't think he really believed me. Whoever I marry will be musical, I can tell you that much... a guy who can sing really just goes up on the hotness scale like a thousand points. Anyways, that was a ton of fun.
Afterwards, Michelle and Adam and I didn't know what we wanted to do, even though we were all so tired from the serious lack of sleep from the night before. So we went to Michelle's house to have some hot chocolate and toast, and guess who should show up but David- Michelle's brother who is like a human sponge when it comes to anything trivial and/or related to artillery/guns. So here's a little shout out to Dave if he ever happens to read this entry: "Hey man, thanks for teaching me those sweet moves. I totally punched a little old grandma today, all thanks to you! Just kidding!" Then Melissa, Michelle's sister came home dressed as Mary Poppins, for what I'm not sure. But she looked pretty sweet. Well, to end this whole long narrative of Friday, let's just say I let them all "entertain" me until nearly 1:30 in the morning, when I was nearly passed out on their kitchen counter. Oh, but I DID get to see Melissa perched like a juvenile Japanese thug on their other kitchen counter. That made it all worth it! Thanks Melishka!
On to Saturday...
Today I actually did NOT wake up at the crack of noon... oh, no. I woke up at 1:38 pm. It was a beautiful thing, except for the fact that I missed the kick-off of the U of U/BYU game at 1! So anyways, I came upstairs to already find it was on, and my step-dad had left, knowing that I'd be there watching the game... he didn't want to interfere with my devilistic rituals known as cheering for the "RED" team. He went to his dads house and came home shortly after they LOST! hahahjahahashahhahaha! Oh man, that really was an intense game. When I joined the fun, the U was already up by 14 points! I just loved seeing that half-time score of 24-Utah, 3-BYU. It was again a beautiful thing. BYU actually did start to bring it during the third quarter, and I started to get nervous. The 4th quarter really scared me at one point. But Overtime was amazing. Simply amazing. I could hardly believe it! I started running around my family room shouting... when did I turn into my step-dad cheering for any kind of BYU sport? It was a really strange moment of self-realization for me. I'll never be the same.
After this I went to the school play yet again because it was fabulatastic! Then I went cosmic bowling my with my 16-yr.-old sister Kendra, and I somehow scored a 101! Can you believe it? I could hardly believe it! That's the only time in my sad bowling history that I've ever broken one hundred on my bowling score. My second game was really good too, although I only scored a 98... :)! We then went out for shakes to celebrate our amazing bowling scores. (Kendra's were 62 and 86. Way to go!) We got some strawberry shakes at McD's, and then stayed up talking until nearly two in the morning. I love that girl!
Then today I went to Devan Turner's mission farewell, and I had so much fun seeing everyone! Natalie Wilmore was finally there, and I think that's the first time I've even seen that girl since graduation! The food was great, we had quite a few laughs, my friend Crowsh stepped in some dog poo, and Devan gave me the biggest hug I think I've ever had. It was amazing! His mom is throwing a going-away party for him on Saturday night, and I am definitely going to that... it'll be the last time I see him for two years... I can hardly believe it! I'm not sure the exact day he leaves, but he's going to Copenhagen, Denmark, and I honestly hopes he has the time of his life. I know he's been looking forward to this for a really long time.
Okay, well I'm sure I have bored you all to tears, but I just had to get that all out. Thanks for your time if you really did read all that. I love you all a bunch, whomever you may be!
Love,
Brookie

After you and Adam left on Friday, we were talking about how we tend to monopolize guests with really pointless conversation. You guys looked like you were just too tired to stand up and leave. As for me, I just like to go out dressed like Mary Poppins for no particular reason. She's "practically perfect in every way."

I will not deny the observation which you have stated that Brooke and I were not actively engaged in the conversation (that was almost poetic) was mainly due to the extreme lack of sleep on my part. Although, had I been there 30 minutes longer, you would have discovered what happens when I'm REALLY tired. Bwahahahahaha!
